2026 Flight Attendant Safety Summit packed with professional development
Bombardier’s 2026 Flight Attendant Safety Summit (FASS) is taking shape, and it’s promising to be another can’t-miss event for aviation cabin professionals!
Join us Aug. 5-6 at Bombardier’s Laurent Beaudoin Completion Centre in Dorval, Quebec, for one-and-a-half days of informative presentations and valuable industry networking opportunities. The fourth annual FASS, presented in collaboration with Bombardier’s Safety Standdown, is open to flight attendants, aviation managers, directors, CEOs and pilots. Attendance is completely free.
Registration opens in early June! Follow the Bombardier Safety Standdown page on LinkedIn for more information as it becomes available.
Meanwhile, here’s a peek at a few of this year’s presentations, which promise to deliver unparalleled professional development opportunities:
“ICAO Initiatives in Advancing Cabin and Passenger Safety” – Darlene MacLachlin, Technical Officer, Human Factors, International Civil Aviation Organization
This session dives into how cabin safety has evolved into a complex, data-driven discipline focused on risk prevention, human performance, and survivability, and highlights recent ICAO initiatives to advance cabin crew and passenger safety globally through the establishment of the Flight Operations Panel and the Cabin Safety Specific Study Group.
“From Take-Off to Touchdown: Children on Board” - Georgi Hester, Early Years Consultant, Norland
Supporting children, empowering crew, reassuring clients! Small passengers come with big responsibilities. This training aims to help create safe cabins, calm crews and have confident conversations. We will explore how to keep young passengers safe, settled and supported during flights. Crew will build confidence in creating a child-safe environment, responding to behaviour appropriately, and engaging parents and clients in calm, professional conversations that support safety and well-being throughout the journey.
“Bombardier Instructors Masterclass in Cabin Safety” - Lynnette McCoubrey, Chief of Cabin Safety & Training, Bombardier
Join the Bombardier Cabin Safety team for an in-depth review of manufacturer-recommended best cabin safety practices and emergency procedures for the Global and Challenger fleet. In this instructor-led session, participants will engage in an open discussion on key cabin safety topics, such as brace positions, emergency equipment, effective crew briefings, and use of aircraft-specific safety and emergency systems. The course also features a live, on-board detailed demonstration of cabin preparation for a planned emergency.
“Messy Systems, Missed Service: How Organization Drives Performance and Safety” - Megan Arthurs, Founder and CEO of H:OM ORGANIZING
In this engaging and practical session, Megan Arthurs shares how organization directly impacts performance, service, and safety in high-performance environments like aviation. Learn how messy systems create friction, slow you down, and add unnecessary stress – and find out how simple, strategic organization can completely change the way you work. With real-world examples, actionable tips, and product recommendations you can actually use, you’ll walk away with tools to create smoother workflows, faster service, and a more controlled, confident environment.
“Behind the Smile: The Safety Power of Flight Attendants” - Melanie Folcik Barillaro, Senior Aviation Accident Investigator
This presentationexplores the often-overlooked reality that flight attendants are first and foremost safety professionals – not just customer service providers, who consistently man the front line for passengers during an accident. This presentation will begin by reframing the public perception of the role, highlighting the extensive training flight attendants undergo in emergency procedures, risk recognition, and crisis management. It will then examine real-world aviation accident and incident scenarios, showing how flight attendants have played a critical role in evacuation, fire suppression, passenger management, and survival outcomes.
We hope to see you in August at the 2026 FASS!
