New Smart Link Plus Exchange Forum webinar now online!
Bombardier has rolled out the fourth episode of its Smart Link Plus Exchange Forum, a webinar series designed to share important information and generate discussion among Smart Link Plus customers.
Hosts George Tsopeis and John Laggis – both Smart Link Plus Customer Engagement Representatives – return to discuss recent updates to Bombardier’s myMaintenance tool, including the addition of a new Takeoff & Landing Report that will help to streamline operational workflows.
The pair are joined by special guest Elza Brunelle-Yeung, Senior Director of Aftermarket Products & Digital, who explains the genesis of the Smart Link Plus aircraft health monitoring program and how it empowers Bombardier customers by providing information to enable better operational decision-making. She envisions a future where Smart Link Plus will be the main contributor to “zero unplanned maintenance.”
Brunelle-Yeung discusses Smart Link Plus program uptake, noting growing adoption rates for retrofit installations – this, coupled with a 99 percent renewal rate among subscribers, indicates strong customer confidence, she said.
This episode also features a real-life case study presented by Myles Riazifar, an engineer on the Smart Link Plus development team. He describes how a Challenger 3500 aircraft experienced an anti-ice leak warning CAS message and then takes viewers through effective troubleshooting techniques enabled by Smart Link Plus data.
Finally, another example chronicles the collaboration between a customer and the Bombardier Customer Response Centre (CRC) to investigate an overspeed case encountered during flight. Smart Link Plus data was compared to established aircraft thresholds, enabling technicians to accurately assess whether VMO and MMO thresholds were exceeded. As Peter Mok, Manager of the CRC, stated, “The data never lies.” This aircraft was able to return to regular operations without any further action following this quick validation.
The value of real-time analytics in flight safety and aircraft maintenance is clear.
A quote from Brunelle-Yeung sums it up well: “If it saves just one AOG one time, then it’s all worth it.”
