Bombardier celebrates Global 8000 entry-into-service

Bombardier fulfilled a promise to its customers and stakeholders on Dec. 8, 2025, when its flagship Global 8000 aircraft entered into service—on time and exactly according to plan.

As hundreds of employees, government officials, suppliers, media and special guests looked on at the Bombardier Aircraft Assembly Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the keys to the world’s first production Global 8000 were presented to its new owner, Mr. Patrick Dovigi.

“Today’s celebration is a testament to the rigour and dedication of our talented employees and suppliers who have collectively enabled our Global 8000 to set the new standard for speed, range and cabin comfort in the industry,” said Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Product Development, Bombardier.

“This is truly an historic moment for Bombardier.”

Indeed, the Global 8000’s entry-into-service (EIS) is the latest milestone in a string of impressive accomplishments.

As 2025 unfolded, Bombardier’s new ultra-long-range business jet racked up a long list of achievements: flying through its flight-test program; becoming the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde with a top speed of Mach 0.95; demonstrating an industry-leading lowest cabin altitude of 2,691 ft. at 41,000 ft.; and receiving Transport Canada Type Certification this past November.

Bombardier’s Global 8000 offers discerning customers the whole package: an impressive 8,000 nautical mile range; remarkable agility comparable to a light jet; four true zones for maximum on-board productivity; and unparalleled cabin amenities and thoughtful design touches—all created to maximize passenger comfort and prevent the effects of jet lag.

With EIS in the books, Bombardier looks forward to the Global 8000’s pending certifications from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
