Bombardier’s new Smart Router delivers seamless, secure connectivity
Bombardier has introduced a high-performance connectivity solution that meets the evolving needs of the individuals, businesses, governments and militaries who fly aboard its jets.
The new Smart Router enables stable, secure and seamless connectivity that harnesses the latest technology. It incorporates Wi-Fi 6, 5G cellular capability, modern security features like enterprise-level encryption and advanced firewalls, and built-in redundancies to keep Bombardier customers safely connected to who and what matters most.
Around-the-clock remote support and real-time troubleshooting ensure that issues are rapidly resolved, maximizing operational efficiency for every user.
“Bombardier thrives on giving its customers the confidence to fly worldwide in comfort and style—with reliable, high-performance connectivity built for today’s customer needs for added convenience,” said Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President, Bombardier Aftermarket Services & Strategy.
By 2026, the new Smart Router—developed in collaboration with Collins Aerospace, Bombardier’s preferred connectivity solutions provider—will be available as baseline equipment on the entire family of in-production Challenger and Global aircraft. Leveraging Collins Aerospace’s CCR-3000, Smart Router incorporates additional features to deliver a high-performance connectivity solution. Smart Router is currently available for installation on Bombardier Challenger 650, Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft, and owners and operators of existing in-service aircraft can now book appointments to install Smart Router at Bombardier Services Centres worldwide.
“Designed with security at the core and to elevate our support with real-time troubleshooting through remote support and fault isolation, the improved cyber protection gives confidence and peace of mind anywhere, any place, at any time,” said Peter Likoray, Senior Vice President, Aircraft Sales at Bombardier.
