Building for the future at Bombardier’s London Biggin Hill Service Centre
At Bombardier, we’re always seeking new ways to enhance our service offering for our customers – ensuring their service experience reflects the highest levels of care and convenience and is built upon the confidence that Bombardier is in your backyard… and close to where you fly.
This is precisely the recipe we’re following at our London Biggin Hill Service Centre, where we’re adding a brand new 51,000-square-foot aircraft paint facility, enhancing our already comprehensive maintenance capabilities.
I’m pleased to share that ground stabilization and foundation work on the new hangar has been completed, with the structural steel framework rising and hangar cladding underway. Construction is on schedule and expected to wrap up in the second half of 2026. This facility is further proof of Bombardier’s ongoing commitment to enhance the customer service experience with a wider range of OEM-quality products and services.
The team showcased the new advancements to a special visitor on July 4: Peter Fortune, Bromley and Biggin Hill Member of Parliament.
London Biggin Hill’s general manager, Sander Podgoric, toured the site with Fortune, highlighting the service centre’s role as an economic driver at London Biggin Hill Airport and in the London Borough of Bromley. The facility was opened in 2017 and significantly expanded in 2022 to nearly 250,000 square feet. The new two-bay paint facility will further complement the full range of services already provided at London Biggin Hill Service Centre, including heavy maintenance checks on Bombardier’s entire family of Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft.
In all, the new building is expected to add 50 new jobs, raising the total on site to nearly 400 skilled aerospace professionals. It is a shining example of what can be accomplished when Bombardier works with area stakeholders to develop high-paying aerospace jobs and local training opportunities.
Whether you visit our London Biggin Hill Service Centre or any other Bombardier maintenance facilities worldwide, our team is committed to inspiring customer confidence through the delivery of convenient services and incomparable OEM expertise. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Anthony Cox
