Safety Standdown: 30 years of ‘Evolution Fueled by Legacy’

Three decades after it was launched by a Learjet flight demonstration team as a human factors seminar, Bombardier’s signature Safety Standdown event continues to resonate with aviation professionals around the world.

Always free of charge and open to all industry stakeholders, Safety Standdown encourages attendees to learn new safety concepts, apply them in their everyday work, and share what they learn with their colleagues.

This year, the theme of the 30th anniversary edition of Safety Standdown is “Evolution Fueled by Legacy.” It reminds aviation professionals that progress in safety doesn’t happen by chance; it requires continued vigilance and a commitment to constant improvement. Indeed, our past provides a solid foundation; our decisions today shape the future.

Bombardier invites pilots, maintenance engineers, cabin crew members, support staff and all associated aviation professionals to the 2026 Safety Standdown – regardless of what type of aircraft they fly. Attendees can expect three days of valuable learning opportunities, workshops, presentations and networking. More than 400 are expected to participate in person, with hundreds tuning in to the live webcast.

Since its inception in 1996, more than 10,000 corporate, commercial and military aviation professionals have taken industry safety to new heights at Bombardier’s annual Safety Standdown event.

Save the date and plan to join us Nov. 10-12, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas, home of Bombardier Group’s US Headquarters and Bombardier Defense.
