Bombardier’s Global 8000 program marks milestone deliveries

Bombardier’s flagship aircraft, the Global 8000, has notched two new achievements: first deliveries in Africa and Asia. 

On June 16, Nigeria-based BUA Group took delivery of Africa’s first Global 8000, which will support the company’s long-range travel requirements to key business destinations. The new aircraft is the third new Bombardier jet acquired by BUA Group.  

“The delivery of Africa’s first Global 8000 to BUA Group is a significant milestone for both organizations and a proud moment in the strong relationship we have built over the years,” said Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier. “We are honoured by BUA Group’s continued trust in Bombardier.” 

Just a few days after the African delivery, Asia welcomed its first Global 8000, with a delivery to an undisclosed customer in Shanghai.  

“This first Global 8000 delivery in Asia reflects the region’s continued appetite for aircraft that combine range, speed and a premium onboard experience,” said Bombardier’s Emmanuel Bornand, Vice President, Sales, International. “Asia is a strategically important market for Bombardier, and the Global 8000 is particularly well aligned with the way customers in the region travel: across long distances, on tight schedules and with a strong focus on comfort, efficiency and nonstop global connectivity.” 

Both acquisitions mark an important step in the expansion of ultra-long-range business aviation across the world’s two largest continents, where customers value nonstop access between major financial centres, time savings on long-haul travel, and the ability to connect seamlessly to destinations around the world. 

Bombardier’s Global 8000 offers a top speed of Mach 0.95, a range of 8,000 nautical miles, and the industry’s lowest cabin altitude for an aircraft in production at 2,691 feet.
