Over the past 12 months, the removal rate of the AMT-700 Antenna (P/N 1428-A-0010-02) has increased significantly. A supplier root cause analysis revealed that, in multiple cases, the antenna array and associated subcomponents exhibited superficial damage that can negatively impact antenna performance.

Although these minor defects do not generate system-level failure reports, they may cause intermittent satellite connection losses.

Troubleshooting such issues can be time-consuming and often could lead to unnecessary Satellite Data Unit (SDU) SDU-2200-2 removals.

To mitigate these occurrences, Bombardier recommends that operators implement an inspection reminder whenever the Top Mid-Fairing of the bullet fairing (346BT) is removed. During this process, inspect the AMT-700 Antenna for any signs of abnormal wear or damage. This proactive measure will help prevent avoidable removals and improve overall operational reliability.
