Eaton swivel fitting inspection
Effectivity: Learjet 40/45/70/75 aircraft
ATA Code: 32 - Landing Gear
By Bill Wiles – Technical Services
Eaton has notified Bombardier that multiple part numbers of swivel fittings do not meet production specifications. An improperly assembled swivel fitting has the potential to lose hydraulic fluid, resulting in the necessity for abnormal procedures. Three of the affected swivel assemblies were identified as currently in use on Learjet 40/45/70/75 aircraft. Two of the swivel fittings are used for the spoiler actuators, and are routinely replaced at scheduled intervals. They do not require an inspection. The third swivel fitting is used in the landing gear system and is not routinely replaced; therefore, a one-time inspection must be performed.
The following recommended Service Bulletins were released on Aug. 25, 2025, for the inspection of Eaton Swivel Fitting P/N AE81510E for proper assembly.
These service bulletins provide instructions to inspect and, if necessary, replace the inboard landing gear door actuator hydraulic line swivel fitting.
