Fault Message Center tracks and stores Global 7500 fault codes

Effectivity: Global 7500  aircraft

ATA: 44

The Fault Message Center (FMC), part of the Cabin Management System (CMS) menu located in the maintenance section, gives an overview of active fault messages detected by the CMS. It also keeps a history of these fault messages. (See Figure 1)

Once a failure is triggered by a member subsystem, it sends a fault code to the CMS and the notification appears on the Galley Control Panel and the Cabin Control application (Figure 2).

Failure messages are kept in the active list as long as the failures are active. All failure messages will go into the history list immediately. The history list provides a chronological list of failure appearances, which is valuable information for investigative purposes. The FMC has a capacity of 1,000 entries in its non-volatile memory. When all entries are used, the latest entry will be replaced with new data. The FMC history data is stored on EIU #1 and will be lost in the event of its replacement.

It is possible to open a fault message to show more details, sort the list by code, title or time, mark or delete a fault message. Only fault messages in the history can be deleted and only when the aircraft is on the ground. Active and historical faults can be emailed using a portable electronic tablet with the Global 7500 Cabin Control application.

The CMS fault message codes are listed in the SmartFix Plus application in the troubleshooting section by CMS. Select an ATA chapter and the CMS code to access the troubleshooting tips page. (Figure 3)

Fault message codes beginning with “441CMS” are generated by the CMS; any other fault beginning with a different code is generated by a member subsystem and sent to the CMS.
