Pressure transducer INOP info message

Effectivity: Global 7500 aircraft

ATA: 32

By: Jonathan Couture – Technical Services

Flight crews and maintenance personnel are reminded of the following condition, occuring when the park brake is applied and the brakes are warm.

The thermal expansion of brake hydraulic fluid may lead to brake pressure transducers reaching a limit of over 3450psi. The brake control unit then latches an INFO message 32 BRAKE−PRESS TRANSDUCER INOP. This condition may occur even with the brake temperature monitoring system (BTMS) indications within the green range.

To prevent this INFO message, please use the parking brake in accordance with FCOM1 Shutdown (04-07-1) recommendations:

  • Set park brake once the airplane has come to a full stop.

  • Ensure that chocks are in place before releasing park brake.

  • The park brake will not hold the aircraft for extended periods. Do not leave the aircraft without chocks in place.

  • To facilitate brake cooling, release the park brake when chocks are in place.

If this INFO message is latched, clear the message using these steps prior to dispatch:

  • Release the pressure by releasing the parking brake.

  • Cycle CB for OUTBD brakes − SPDA4−1−12.

  • Cycle CB for INBD brakes − SPDA1−1−11.

The alternative to resetting the CBs is a complete power down and re−power up of the airplane. If the INFO message is not cleared after these reset attempts, maintenance action is required prior to dispatch.

If you have any questions, please contact Technical Services or your local Field Service Representative (FSR).
