Wing leading edge – Interslat dog bone seal design

The original configuration of interslat seals and retainers on the Global 7500 aircraft was improved following reports of damaged and lost seals during flight.

The intent of this article is to provide operators with relevant information and references on interslat seal configuration by aircraft serial number.

All aircraft 

  • For all configurations, operators can refer to the AFM 08-10-57 - Configuration Deviation List for dispatch relief with missing interslat seals. 

  • Please note that the information below does not take into consideration any modification to the seal installation on specific aircraft via SNIEO or REO. 

Aircraft SN 70006-70049, 70051-70089, 70097-70098  

  • Original grey colour fabric seals and retainer configuration at all interslat locations. 

  • Service Bulletin 700-57-7538 is available for installation of the latest seals and retainer configuration at all interslat locations. 

  • PRE-SB 700-57-7538 replacement seals (grey colour), refer to IPD BD700-A-J57-41-09-01AAA-941A-A.  

  • PRE-SB 700-57-7538, reinforcement of the grey colour seal with glass cloth tape is available through In-Service Modsum (ISMS) 700-57-7003 to improve the retention. 

  • POST-SB 700-57-7538 replacement seals (black colour), refer to IPD BD700-A-J57-41-09-01ACA-941A-A. 

Aircraft SN 70050, 70090-70096, 70099-70115 

  • Black colour seals installed via SB 700-57-7517, MS TA700T7094823 or equivalent. 

  • Latest configuration of seal retainers between Slats No. 2-3 and Slats No. 3-4. 

  • If deformation of the seal is noted between Slats No. 1 and No. 2, SB 700-57-7538 PART A is available to install the latest seal retainer configuration at this location. SB 700-57-7538 PART B and PART C do not apply to these aircraft. 

  • Refer to IPD BD700-A-J57-41-09-01ACA-941A-A for replacement seals. 

Aircraft SN 70116-70197 

  • Black colour seals installed in production. 

  • Latest configuration of seal retainers between Slats No. 2-3 and Slats No. 3-4. 

  • If deformation of the seal is noted between Slats No. 1 and No. 2, SB 700-57-7538 PART A is available to install the latest seal retainer configuration at this location. SB 700-57-7538 PART B and PART C do not apply to these aircraft. 

  • Refer to IPD BD700-A-J57-41-09-01ABA-941A-A for replacement seals. 

Aircraft SN 70198 and up 

  • Black colour seals installed in production. 

  • Latest configuration of seal retainers at all interslat locations. 

  • Refer to IPD BD700-A-J57-41-09-01ABA-941A-A for replacement seals.
