3rd Flight Attendant Safety Summit unites aviation professionals in the name of cabin safety
Bombardier’s third annual Flight Attendant Safety Summit attracted nearly 140 aviation professionals to Montreal on Aug. 7, 2025, for a full day of learning and networking in the name of cabin safety.
Following opening remarks, Don Chupp of Fireside Partners took centre stage, leading a discussion about Emergency Response Plans (ERPs). Attendees explored important themes such as emergency preparedness and courage under fire in the event of an aviation emergency.
Next, Kristopher Cannon of Aviation Secure encouraged cabin professionals to proactively identify and close security gaps in their operations, thereby increasing safety on the job.
After lunch, a choice of four breakout sessions included a fascinating discussion on how crew members can build mental health and resilience in preparation for the unexpected – hosted by Richard Gomez of MedAire, Inc.
Jim Pizzichiello of Aircare FACTS Training took attendees through valuable tips for fighting fires on board corporate aircraft, including a familiarization with typical equipment.
Bombardier demo pilot and safety manager, Dave Strassburg, tackled fatigue in his presentation: what it is, how to recognize it, and how it affects safety sensitive duties.
Finally, Elizabeth Mitches, Chief Pilot at Porter Airlines, led a spirited discussion that advocated for more integrated training between cabin crew and pilots, by examining current gaps and introducing collaborative training models.
Held in collaboration with Bombardier’s Safety Standdown, the Flight Attendant Safety Summit is fast becoming a can’t-miss event for aviation professionals of all stripes – from the cockpit to the cabin to operations.
