Bombardier’s Global 7500 notches 150th speed record

Bombardier’s award-winning Global 7500 aircraft is officially the most-decorated business jet type of all time.

The Global 7500 soared to a new performance milestone in early October, achieving its 150th speed record—more than any other single business aircraft type.

Averaging speeds in excess of 1,000 km/h on 20 of its record-setting missions, the Global 7500 bested the competition on key city pairs, such as Tokyo to Los Angeles and New York to London. In addition to speed records, the aircraft also flew the longest flight ever recorded in business aviation—an 8,225 nautical mile (15,232.7 km) flight from Sydney, Australia to Detroit, Michigan.

“The Global 7500 continues to redefine what is possible in business aviation,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense. “Many of these records have been set with passengers on board in varying conditions and airports, making these achievements even more meaningful and reaching this pinnacle more remarkable.”

With a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a baseline range of 7,700 nautical miles, the Global 7500 sets the stage for even higher performance—coming soon with the launch of Bombardier’s flagship for a new era, the Global 8000 aircraft
