This article reminds operators of Challenger 600 and Challenger 300 Series aircraft to inspect and replace any M85052/2 clamps whose cushion material shows signs of deterioration. Degraded cushions may lead to hydraulic line chafing and possible damage.
The cushion deterioration appears to be limited to the clamps with blue cushions, as opposed to the clamps with purple cushions. Both clamp versions carry the same part number: M85052/2.
This is a known issue that was contained in 2015. Please refer to Advisory Wires AW600-29-2485 and AW300-29-0211, which were issued at that time to detail that condition.
Recently reported cases have identified deterioration of the blue cushion material on certain hydraulic system clamps. Consequently, operators should pay particular attention to the condition of the blue clamps securing hydraulic lines, especially the hydraulic pressure lines located in the aft equipment compartment.
It is recommended that any blue cushion clamp showing signs of deterioration be replaced at the earliest opportunity.
For Challenger 300 Series aircraft, special attention should be given to the hydraulic pressure line to Reservoir No. 2. (Reference: CL300/350 AIPC 29-18-01, Item 511)
